Public Housing Overview

Pittsfield Housing Authority owns and operates public housing serving over 600 families in the city of Pittsfield. We rent these apartments and homes to the public based on their current income in order to make decent housing available to everyone.

The locations served are in a variety of neighborhoods including garden apartments, dwellings near North street, East street, and many other residential areas of the city.

Supportive Housing Programs

The Pittsfield Housing Authority serves families and individual including elderly and the disabled. We have 456 apartments dedicated to elderly/disabled living which includes 12 one bedroom/two bedroom handicapped accessible apartments.  Providence Court has (Congregate Housing) units which are shared kitchen, dining room and living room. Tenant has their own private bedroom.

The developments

We have put together a brief fact sheet about each one of the PHA's residential developments. Our Family Developments are Christopher Arms, Dower Square, Jubilee Apartments, McGill Court, and Wilson Park.   Our Elderly/disabled developments are: Columbia Arms, Francis Plaza, Providence Court, Rose Manor, and  Wahconah Heights.

There is a 24 hour emergency maintenance number to report problems with the buildings, (413) 443-7100.

Apply to live in Public Housing

Any person that meets the State and Federal income eligibility guidelines may apply to live in and rent public housing. Please call our office to schedule an appointment or request an application packet
